Nanatsu no Taizai (七つの大罪 lit. "Os Sete Pecados Capitais")
Nanatsu no Taizai (つ つ の 罪 罪 lit. "The Seven Deadly Sins"), also known as The Seven Deadly Sins in the West, is a manga series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. Started to be serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in October 2012, with 21 tankōbon volumes released so far. The manga features a scenario similar to that of the European Middle Ages, with a main group of knights representing the seven deadly sins.
In January 2015, the Nanatsu manga in Taizai sold more than ten million copies. The anime was produced by studio A-1 Pictures and was broadcast in Japan on JNN and MBS from October 5, 2014 until March 29, 2015. In Brazil the manga has been published by JBC Publishing since March 2015. In September 2015 The anime was released in the Netflix catalog in Brazil and Portugal.
Meliodas メ リ ダ ス 」」:
The captain of the Seven Capital Sins. The sin of Dragon Wrath. He was inspired by King Meliodas in the Arthurian legends who was famous for being the father of Tristan. He is the protagonist and owner of the Boar Hat Bar, known for its excellent drink and horrible food (cooked by Meliodas). Although he looks like a child, he is extremely powerful and much older than he looks since he is over 3000 years old. Even being known as Ira's sin, he rarely gets angry and is very playful, perverted, confident and kind to those he cares about. It is believed to be part of the Clan of the Demons.
Diane デ ア ン ヌ 」」:
The capital sin of the Serpent's envy. It is part of the clan of giants, has enormous physical power and a deep connection to the earth. She is confident, short temper and will do anything to protect an innocent life. She is in love with the Captain, Meliodas, and feels jealous of any woman who shows interest in him. She becomes Elizabeth's best friend, but is envious of the Captain's affection for Elizabeth instead.
Ban バ ン 」」:
The capital sin of Fox's Greed. Also known as Ban the Immortal. Ban is a tall, thin man but with definite muscles. He is based on King Ban in the Arthurian legends who is famous for being the father of Lancerlot. He is aggressive in his struggles, yet relaxed outside of them, as well as being an expert cook and appearing to be concerned only with Meliodas and the other sins above his own interests, with the exception of his beloved Elaine, for whom he would do anything to have Her in his arms. Despite being the sin of greed, he has a deeply affectionate heart and fears losing those he cares about. He also appears to be masochistic (in the face of his immortality, physical pain does not seem to bother him) and he loves challenges.
King / Harlequin キ ハ ハ グ レ 」」 」」 」」 」」 」」:
The capital sin of Bear's laziness. His real name is Harlequin and he is the Fairy King and protector of the Fairy Forest and Fountain of Youth within. King is kind, empathetic, respectful, but fierce when necessary. King, like Meliodas, appears to be a child, but this is a characteristic of fairies and it is not known, but fairies like King can instantly become a "more adult human." He is "secretly" in love with Diane.
Gowther ゴ ウ セ ル:
The capital sin of the Goat's Lust. It is based on King Sir Gowther in the Arthurian legends he is famous for being Merlin's half-brother. The origins of Gowther are not known, but he is unable to have feelings or emotions, and does not understand much about social interactions, but does his best to try to understand them, spending much of his time with readings. He is observant, indifferent, and extremely logical. He is known to affirm observed or obvious facts without considering the feelings of others. In spite of everything, it seems to be quite faithful to / with Meliodas.
Merlin マ マ ー ン 」」:
The capital sin of Gula of the Boar. The character was Merlin is known as the greatest sorceress in all of Britain. Merlin appears to have a playful character. She likes to mock and challenge others and is quite wise in her words. Merlin is a relatively tall woman with a "sinful" appearance and a sapient personality. The character is based on Merlin the sorcerer in the Arthurian legends
Scout エ ス ノ ノ ー 」
The Capital Sin of Lion Pride. His strength and personality vary according to the time of day, with his power being immense and his personality arrogant during the day, but becoming fragile and submissive at night. There are rumors that he is considered the strongest sin, this being recognized even by Meliodas himself in the course of the manga. He demonstrates feelings for Merlin. A curiosity is that Suzuki Nakaba (creator of the Work) described the power of Escanor as immeasurable in fanbook number 2 (holy of sins, 2016). Derrieri And an elite warrior of the Demons Clan, serving directly under the command of the Demon King as a member of the Ten Commandments. Like all members of the Demons Clan, Derriere had a black mark similar to that of Meliodas, using matter to Mysterious black jet, as shown, to form wings to fly. As a member of the Ten Commandments, she is extremely powerful. His aura is so powerful that it made Hendrickson sweat with fear, simply by being in his presence. Derriere was the first demon to show the power to devour the souls of any of the other races, leaving them as empty shells.

On July 28, 2015 was announced a dubbing in Portuguese of Brazil of the anime made in Rio de Janeiro by the studio Alcateia Audiovisual, directed by Flávia Saddy. The anime was released by Netflix as original catalog content in November of the same year. They also include negotiations for television and home-video broadcasters. The second season of the anime was announced on September 27, 2015 and will be released on February 17, 2017.

Plot
The Seven Deadly Sins are a group of knights who live in the region of Britania (リ タ ニ ア ア, Buritania), but have separated because they were accused of attempting to overthrow the Kingdom of Lions (オ ネ ス 王国 王国, Rionesu Ōkoku). His supposed defeat came at the hands of the Holy Knights, but the rumors that they were still alive continued to persist. Ten years later, the Holy Knights staged a coup and captured the King, becoming the new tyrant rulers of the Kingdom. The third princess, Elizabeth began a journey to find the Seven Deadly Sins, to get her help and retake her Kingdom again.

Anime
In April
2014, in the 20th edition of Weekly Shōnen Magazine it was announced that
Nanatsu in Taizai would be adapted for anime. The series premiered on MBS and
Japan News Network on October 5, 2014 at five o'clock in the afternoon. The
team was revealed in the thirty-sixth and sixth installments of the year,
revealing that the anime would be produced by A-1 Pictures studio, directed by
Tensai Okamura, Shōtarō Suga (Rinne no Lagrange) and Keigo Sasaki (Blue
Exorcist) as Designer and Hiroyuki Sawano as composer of the soundtrack. The
first opening was sung by Ikimono-gakari and the second by Man with a Mission,
while the first closing theme is a collaboration between the Flow and Granrodeo
bands, the second closing was played by Alisa Takigawa.
An OVA
titled Ban on Bangai-hen (ン ン の 編 編, Ban's Additional Chapter) was
included in the limited edition of the fifteenth volume of the manga, released
on June 17, 2015. The second OVA composed of nine humorous short films was
Released in the limited edition of the sixteenth volume of the manga, on August
12, 2015.
